About The Position

The Custodian position at Janicki Industries involves maintaining cleanliness in various work environments, including plants and offices. Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
• Must have at least one year of previous experience as a custodian or janitor.
• Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and at a fast pace, climb stairs while carrying a vacuum and supplies, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Support facility projects to maintain and improve work areas inside and outside of the facility.
• Support maintenance activities to improve, maintain and repair all company equipment.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas, area rugs, and all offices.
• Empty all trash and recycling containers.
• Clean restrooms, including mopping floors, scrubbing sinks, partitions, toilets, and washing mirrors and walls as needed.
• Sweep and mop tile floors in break room and reception area; sweep/clean entry area and any stairs.
• Dust reception desk, counter, tables, and windowsills.
• Clean and start coffee makers.
• Load and unload dishwasher as needed.
• Clean sinks and counters as directed by Supervisor in the building they are working in.
• Clean drinking fountains, office partitions, walls, and windows, and replenish supplies as needed.
• Inspect microwaves and refrigerators for expired items; clean as needed and toss out old food items.
• Stock supplies as needed including coffee, tea, cups, creamer, salt & pepper, toilet paper, paper towels, sanitizers, etc.
• Perform carpet deep cleaning/shampooing when needed.
• Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
• Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
• Maintain good attendance as a condition of employment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
