The general custodian will be responsible for completing assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account. This includes ensuring a high level of quality in all tasks performed within the specified allotted time. The position is part-time, with a shift from Monday to Friday, 4pm to 8pm.

  • Complete assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account.
  • Ensure a high level of quality in all tasks performed.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, and office space.
  • Perform general office and restroom cleaning.
  • Clean, dust, and wipe furniture.
  • Empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns.
  • Handle recycling materials.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and sanitize bathrooms.
  • Refill restroom dispensers.
  • Operate a power vacuum.
  • Select proper chemicals, control dilution ratios, and use proper techniques for the area cleaned.
  • Follow all manufacturers' recommendations for use of all cleaning solutions.
  • Properly stock cart.
  • Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
  • Follow all instructions of the Account Manager.
  • Follow the daily job routine in the order it is outlined.
  • Use the correct step-by-step procedures for each cleaning task.
  • Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.
  • Inform the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences on the job.
  • Ensure a level of cleanliness which meets the quality expectations of the customer.
  • Maintain all equipment, supplies, and supply rooms in an orderly fashion.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating positively with customers, vendors, program participants, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Follow agency safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Must be able to pass background checks as required by site.
  • Previous custodial experience preferred.
