Performs custodial work in city buildings and parks facilities.
Requirements
Education: High school graduation, or its equivalent.
Knowledge of: Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures.
Skill/Ability to: use a wide range of janitorial equipment and supplies; understand and follow instructions; safely and correctly operate cleaning equipment; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other city employees and officials.
Safety/Physical Requirements: work is performed both indoors and outside subject to extremes in weather conditions. Tasks involve bending, stooping, lifting, walking, standing, carrying, and using a force equal to 50 pounds.
Certifications & Licenses Required: Valid Texas Driver's License. Must be bondable. Must be able to pass an extensive background check to work in secured areas.

Responsibilities
Performs general cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and emptying waste baskets.
May secure and lock buildings or rooms.
May move office furniture or tables and chairs as needed.
Picks up trash and prepares for proper disposal.
Handles recycling material for proper disposal.
Cleans and sanitizes kitchen and maintains kitchen stock supplies.
Sweeps and maintains all city hall entrances, exterior and interior.
Operates vacuums and carpet shampooing machines.
Cleans and sanitizes restrooms; restocks and orders restroom supplies.
Cleans stairwells, walls, windows, light fixtures, and office equipment.
Serves as essential emergency personnel when required.
Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the position.
Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
