About The Position

The Custodial Worker/Floor Tech position at VGS Inc. is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and performing floor care duties in a commercial setting. Requirements

  • Previous floorcare experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate heavy cleaning equipment and follow safety protocols.
  • Must be able to pass federal clearance background check.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all floorcare including buffing, waxing, and stripping floors.
  • Use heavy equipment to complete floorcare tasks.
  • Complete assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within the specified time and meet quality expectations.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, and office spaces.
  • Clean, dust, and wipe furniture.
  • Empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers; handle recycling materials.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and sanitize bathrooms.
  • Refill restroom dispensers.
  • Operate a power vacuum.
  • Select proper chemicals and control dilution ratios for cleaning tasks.
  • Follow all manufacturers' recommendations for cleaning solutions.
  • Properly stock cleaning cart.
  • Assist with setup for meetings, classrooms, and events.
  • Follow instructions from the Account Manager and daily job routine.
  • Use correct procedures for each cleaning task and follow safety procedures when operating equipment.
  • Inform the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences.
  • Maintain cleanliness to meet customer quality expectations.
  • Keep equipment, supplies, and supply rooms orderly.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Follow agency safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Pass federal clearance background check process.
