About The Position

The Custodial Technician is responsible for, under the general direction of the Manager of Facilities and Grounds, maintaining the clean appearance of the main campus building and the Medical Office Building.  This includes maintaining cleanliness of floors, bathrooms, break rooms, surfaces, classrooms, common areas and other areas in the buildings.

  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team-based diverse environment.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders of various heights.
  • Ability to operate power machinery such as industrial floor cleaners.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their applications.
  • Ability to work independently when necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • six (6) months - one (1) year of experience in housekeeping.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) - three (3) years of experience in housekeeping or cleaning.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning bathrooms
  • Cleaning break rooms
  • Replenish bathroom supplies
  • Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and cleaning surfaces
  • Windows
  • Work with a team of housekeepers and facilities technicians.
  • Clean, disinfect and store all equipment at the end of the shift
  • Monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies
  • Respond to requests for housekeeping problems, such as spills and broken glass
  • Collect and remove trash and debris
  • Assist with laundry management, including washing, drying, ironing, and sorting linen
  • Clean upholstered and non-upholstered furniture
  • Perform detailed deep cleaning when required
  • Clean all areas, including the anatomy lab when required
  • Report safety issues and property damage to supervisor
  • Report and return lost property
  • Maintain a positive relationship with employees, students, tenants, and guests
  • Assist administration, faculty and staff in special projects as needed under the direction of the Facilities Manager.
