About The Position

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Custodial Technician for a 2nd shift position based in Manchester, NH. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing learning environment for students, visitors, and staff. The Custodial Technician will report to the Custodial Services Lead and will be responsible for executing daily cleaning and disinfection tasks while adhering to organizational standards of quality and safety. This is an onsite role with available shifts from Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM EST.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of custodial experience
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Hold a valid driver's license and be eligible for university auto insurance

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, vacant, and deep cleaning and disinfection of student areas and common areas.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of organizational cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements.
  • Follow safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement programs.
  • Maintain cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment in an orderly fashion.
  • Remove waste and transport it to the appropriate disposal area, identifying proper waste streams handling.
  • Follow infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning protocols and PPE usage.
  • Recognize and adhere to student privacy requirements (FERPA).
  • Use appropriate resources to resolve identified problems or concerns.
  • Operate and maintain all housekeeping tools and equipment needed for cleaning and disinfection.
  • Perform specialty tasks as needed, such as conference room setup and cleaning of stairwells and elevators.
  • Assist with onboarding of new Level I technicians if requested.
  • Use computers or mobile devices for daily job performance activities.
  • Drive from building to building on campus to perform job tasks.
