About The Position

Aramark is hiring Custodial Team Members to support Facilities Services operations at Florida State Hospital. This role is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary environments across institutional, clinical, and professional settings.   Custodial assignments are completed in a structured healthcare environment where cleanliness, safety, and attention to detail directly support resident well-being and staff operations. This position offers a strong foundation for individuals interested in long-term facilities or healthcare support career. Schedule & Work Environment Primary schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday Rotational weekend and holiday coverage required Work performed in: Institutional settings Clinical environments Professional and administrative areas   Important Employment Requirement Due to the nature of this role within a State of Florida medical and mental health facility, all candidates must successfully complete and pass a Level II background screening in accordance with Florida Statutes Chapter 435 as a condition of employment. Employees must demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and adherence to safety and security protocols at all times.

  • Able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks and exposure to hazardous chemicals
  • Maintains friendly, efficient, positive guest service demeanor towards guests, clients and co-workers
  • Adaptable to guests’ needs

  • Previous custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and sanitary environment in assigned areas
  • Clean floors, restrooms, offices, patient/resident areas, and common spaces according to standards
  • Safely use, clean, and maintain custodial equipment and supplies
  • Follow established procedures for storage, handling, and disposal of trash and waste
  • Transport waste to designated disposal areas in accordance with policy
  • Adhere to all OSHA, state, federal, and Aramark safety regulations
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns through proper work order channels
  • Assist with securing areas by ensuring doors and access points are properly locked or unlocked as required
  • Protect and maintain the security of company and facility assets
  • Maintain a professional, respectful demeanor with residents, staff, and coworkers
