West Chester University of Pennsylvania Facilities Division invites applicants for the position of Custodial Team Lead (CW2). The available shift is Sunday to Thursday 10:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m. This position is responsible for the operational conduct of housekeeping services for an assigned area within the University including academic, administrative, residential, and athletic facilities areas. The custodial team lead provides staffing and operational oversight for two to ten employees engaged in providing the full range of housekeeping services. The custodial team leader will delegate the authority to prioritize work within the assigned area to maintain departmental work standards, work assignments, cleaning policies and procedure goals and objectives. This position requires you to make decisions based on a full knowledge of these guidelines. Deviations from these guidelines must be reported and/or approved by supervisor or management. The Facilities team values effort and pride in a job well done. As a member of the Facilities Divisional staff, this position is deemed essential. Essential employees must remain or report to work during partial or full day closings of the University due to hazardous road conditions, emergency circumstances or for other reasons.

Requirements

  • One year as a Custodial Worker 1 (commonwealth title)
  • One year of experience performing custodial work
  • Knowledge of the materials, methods, and practices used in custodial work.
  • Knowledge of aseptic and sanitation materials hazards and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to read and understand written materials.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
