Under minimal direct supervision and administrative direction, the Custodial Supervisor is responsible for ensuring high quality professional cleaning services at Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Ryan Airfield (RYN). This role involves planning, training, supervising, inspecting, and evaluating the work and performance of custodial employees, as well as assisting in the management of departmental activities and providing exceptional customer service.

  • Support and advocate for TAA's Mission, Vision, and Guiding Principles.
  • Plan and supervise the cleaning activities of staff in specified indoor and exterior areas at TUS and RYN.
  • Assist in staff scheduling to ensure adequate personnel are assigned to perform cleaning activities.
  • Train and monitor employees to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of tenant cleaning services contracts.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct all departmental training; document training.
  • Identify issues and assist in developing strategies for solutions.
  • Collect, store, retrieve, and organize all records and documents generated by the department.
  • Participate in the development of the annual operating budget and monitor the department budget.
  • Evaluate supply and material needs; order supplies and materials.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are properly accounted for.
  • Complete performance management for employees and monitor their performance.
  • Promote customer relations by responding to service requests and resolving complaints.
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate schedules with customers to minimize disruption.
  • Keep supervisor informed of department performance and provide advice on custodial services matters.
  • Be prepared to assume responsibilities of the Custodial Services section when the Manager is unavailable.
  • Support public safety and operational response to emergencies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of supervisory experience or as a custodian in a large business complex or multi-tenant facility.
  • Knowledge of custodial service cleaning methods, equipment, and tools.
  • Knowledge of safety management principles and practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-noise environment and extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Experience in airport operations or similar environments.
  • Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish.
  • Competitive salary range of $47,386.00 - $72,027.00 per year.
