About The Position

Supervises the activities of staff and ensures that custodial services meet the needs of the county. Coordinates work schedules for the custodial department for the purpose of ensuring efficient custodial/flooring services. Provides hands-on training for site-based custodians on the proper cleaning technique, operation, handling and storing of cleaning equipment, flooring machines and chemicals. Assists with inventory management by completing supply requests from custodians, submitting completed requests for record keeping and recommending equipment and supply needs. Delivers and replenishes custodial supplies to County buildings. Assists with the oversight of contracted custodial services by checking supply inventory and performing on-site inspections. Resolves and/or responds to custodial work order requests. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 5 years job related experience in custodial and/or building maintenance work
• General custodial knowledge
• Ability to coordinate complex cleaning and flooring schedules
• Knowledge of effective cleaning techniques, cleaning materials, supplies and equipment
• Good verbal and written communication
• Ability to deal effectively with outside contractors
• Strong organizational skills
• interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in leading custodial crews and/or schedule custodial work preferred.
