About The Position

This position supports the implementation of industry standards and procedures for UI Custodial Services and plays a vital role in maintaining clean, safe and well-maintained University facilities. The incumbent will demonstrate responsiveness, adaptability and professionalism while onboarding new staff, conducting regular building inspections, assisting with equipment repair, responding to emergencies, managing projects and performing seasonal tasks such as snow removal. This is an essential position that will be called upon in the event of an emergency and/or university closure.

Responsibilities

• Training new staff
• Inspect buildings to determine cleaning and training deficiencies
• Supervise day customer response and weekend team
• Provide general support to custodial teams through equipment repair, weekend cleaning and recycling
• Maintain communication with building occupants and coworkers, addressing any concerns or special requests promptly
• Other duties as assigned
