About The Position

The position involves custodial and maintenance responsibilities within a school environment. The employee will report to the Building Principal and Facilities Manager and is expected to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the school facilities. This includes a variety of tasks such as cleaning, minor repairs, and ensuring the security of the building.

Requirements

• Minimum of High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Custodial or maintenance experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and vacuums hallways, classrooms, storage areas, restrooms, stairs and office space
• Prepares building for night activities and works cooperatively with those who use school facilities
• Empties trash and garbage containers
• Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, minor maintenance to include plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities
• Replaces air conditioner filters
• Maintains building security
• Maintains confidentiality of information gained through the performance and location of the position
• Notifies Director of Maintenance and Facilities concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment
• Cleans and removes snow and debris from sidewalk
• Mows lawn, trims shrubbery, and cultivates flowers
• Other duties as assigned
