West Chester University of Pennsylvania Facilities Division invites applicants for the position of Custodial Maintenance Technician (MR2). As a member of the Custodial Operations Department, the Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for inspecting and maintaining all custodial motorized equipment including wet and dry vacuums, buffers, burnishers, floor auto scrubbers, power washers, snowblowers and other miscellaneous equipment. As well as installing and repairing chemical, paper, and soap dispensers. The ideal candidate can follow oral and written directions; demonstrates effective in-person and written communication skills; experience using an electronic work order system; and can recognize problems and determine proper repair solutions and corrective courses of action. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of shop safety procedures and PPE use; knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems; familiarity with battery powered systems (AGM, gel, lithium-ion) and battery charging maintenance. As a member of the Facilities Divisional staff, this position is deemed "essential" and must remain or report to work during partial or full day closings of the University due to hazardous road conditions, emergency circumstances or for other reasons.
