About The Position

The Custodian Lead is responsible for coordinating the custodial staff and ensuring that the interior and exterior of Meow Wolf is maintained and cleaned. This is a maintenance position that requires leadership experience as the employee will serve as a liaison between the Custodial team and the Facilities Manager.

Requirements

More than 2 years of experience managing a team of 5 or more staff.
More than 2 years of experience training new staff members.
More than 2 years of experience creating staff schedules.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Custodial/ EVS/ Janitorial.
Ability to clearly communicate information and expectations to staff.
Ability to thoughtfully listen to the needs and concerns of staff.
Ability to follow and enforce safety rules.
Ability to be flexible and adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
Professional demeanor in a public space.
Ability to read and write English.
Follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to interpret directions on cleaning products and equipment.

Responsibilities

Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of other janitorial staff.
Evaluate and verify employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
Identify staff development and training needs and ensure that training is obtained.
Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relative to the work.
Make rounds to check for crew coverage of designated work areas, assigning needed coverage, and giving special cleaning instructions and/or assignments.
Determine materials, supplies, and equipment needs; ordering cleaning supplies and materials.
Inspect equipment for cleanliness and repair and personally make minor repairs.
Perform related work as assigned.
