About The Position

The Custodial Day Porter position exists to provide general cleaning and day to day building maintenance support across the campus. Duties include removing debris, maintaining common areas, conference rooms, kitchenettes, restocking bathrooms and supply closets, and responding to all cleaning emergencies. Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Focus on the Family has nearly 700 employees who work to achieve the mission of enriching the lives of families, engaging the culture, advocating for life and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The work is meaningful, the culture is rewarding, and the purpose is eternal. A $500 Hiring Bonus is available: $250 paid after 30 days and $250 paid after 6 months of employment. Responsibilities

  • Performs general cleaning duties to include moving furniture, floor cleaning, and furniture cleaning
  • Monitors restroom and custodial closets for adequate stocking levels
  • Keeps outside walkways to entrances clean and free from debris, snow, and ice
  • Collects and removes trash and recyclables including heavy lifting, sorting, and breaking down boxes and other items
  • Participates in on-site event set up and tear down
  • May be asked to assist Facilities Tech and/or Furniture Services Team to assist in repairs and set up / tear down
  • Cleans and disinfects restroom facilities as needed and replenishes all supplies
  • Is responsible for cyclical cleaning of furniture, fixtures, walls, windows, blinds, sills, vents, etc.
  • Washes interior glass surfaces, windows, doors, and tabletops
  • Is aware of inoperable equipment, maintenance issues, preventative repairs, and reports to Facilities Admin with clarity and for timely repair
  • Uses upright vacuums, wide area vacuums, and backpack vacuums as required
  • Able to learn and implement preventative and routine maintenance of custodial equipment
  • Maintains wood and metal finishes
  • Operates washer and dryer machines. Folds, sorts, and resupplies cleaning cloths and mops as part of in-house microfiber laundry program
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Works within safety guidelines
  • Maintains working knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and standards
