About The Position

The Custodial Crew Leader is responsible for leading a team of custodial workers in the maintenance and cleaning of County-owned buildings and facilities. This role involves coordinating daily work activities, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the completion of tasks related to landscaping, maintenance, and custodial duties. The position requires a hands-on approach to leadership, training, and operational management within the property management sector of Cobb County Government.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Vocational or technical training in landscaping, parks maintenance, or related field.
• Two years of experience in parks maintenance, landscaping, or related field.
• Commercial Driver's License permit with the ability to obtain Class A within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily work activities of assigned crew.
• Confer with supervisor to obtain direction regarding work assignments and priorities.
• Organize tasks to complete assigned work and monitor status of work in progress.
• Inspect completed work and assist co-workers with complex situations.
• Provide technical expertise and assist with training co-workers on operational procedures.
• Perform landscaping duties including mowing, planting, and maintaining park areas.
• Conduct maintenance and construction tasks for parks and facilities.
• Perform general custodial duties at various parks and facilities.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies needed for work assignments.
• Operate various equipment and tools to complete work assignments.
• Perform general maintenance tasks to keep machinery and tools operable.
• Prepare and complete various forms, reports, and documentation related to work activities.
