About The Position

The position involves assisting the Director of Curriculum in the development, maintenance, and product integrity of preschool and kindergarten curriculum. The role requires adherence to governmental requirements and Challenger School policies, including the Employee Dress Policy and the Employee Handbook, with a focus on the Code of Conduct. The individual will be responsible for delivering Challenger’s program and teaching methods effectively, establishing routines for classroom behavior management, and planning weekly lessons using assigned curriculum guides.

Requirements

  • A college degree and two years teaching experience in preschool and one other grade level at Challenger, or at least four years demonstrated effective teaching in preschool and kindergarten at Challenger, or equivalent experience.
  • Sufficient math and English language skills to perform essential functions.
  • Understanding and embracing Challenger philosophy and methodology.
  • Ability to maintain emotional control and stability in all activities.

Responsibilities

  • Study, understand, and deliver Challenger’s program and teaching methods clearly and effectively.
  • Establish suggested routines and organizational procedures for effective classroom behavior management.
  • Plan weekly lessons using assigned curriculum guides and prepare teaching materials prior to student arrival.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of current preschool and kindergarten practices and curricula.
  • Review curriculum-related forms for accuracy and clarity before re-publishing.
  • Evaluate equipment, toys, and curriculum supplements for preschool and kindergarten.
  • Oversee preschool Show-Off tests and kindergarten Challenger Achievement Tests (CATs).
  • Revise and create content for preschool and kindergarten curricula as directed.
  • Travel to assigned campuses to observe curriculum effectiveness.
  • Assist in observing preschool and kindergarten campus events and activities.
  • Evaluate utilization and effectiveness of supplies for curriculum delivery.
  • Coordinate with the manager on content for workshop presentations and assist in delivery.
  • Contribute to the creation of supplemental teacher training videos and digital learning tools.
  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Department and technology partners to adapt curriculum content into digital platforms.
  • Respond promptly to recommendations and tasks assigned by the manager.
