POSITION PURPOSE The Curriculum Operations and Reporting Analyst (Analyst) provides operational leadership, data oversight, expert consultation and program management for the School of Medicine’s (SoM) Competency‑Based Medical Education (CBME) system. This position ensures the successful implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of CBME across the clinical curriculum. The role functions with a high degree of independence, exercises professional judgment in designing and maintaining reporting systems, manages complex data workflows, and serves as a primary subject‑matter expert to faculty, staff, and leadership. The Analyst reports to the Assistant Director for Clinical Curriculum in the Curriculum Unit of Academic, Rural, and Regional Affairs and directly supports institutional compliance, accreditation, and strategic curriculum initiatives. In addition, this position will work in close collaboration with the Academic and Learning Technologies Data Services Team and the Assessment and Evaluation Team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in independent environments, can translate complex data into actionable insights, and is comfortable managing the full lifecycle of data - from collection to reporting and documentation. The ideal candidate for this role will also have demonstrated experience in complex administrative management and process improvement. POSITION COMPLEXITIES This position operates within a highly complex educational environment spanning multiple campuses and clinical sites across the Washington, Wyoming, Alaksa, Montana and Idaho (WWAMI) region. The person hired for this position must independently interpret accreditation requirements, curriculum policies, and evolving CBME frameworks to develop new reporting methods and operational processes. The role requires navigating ambiguous or incomplete data, making recommendations that directly affect student progression and program quality, and supporting faculty committees responsible for high‑stakes advancement decisions. The Analyst must balance competing deadlines, coordinate across units with different technology systems, ensure data accuracy, and troubleshoot issues with downstream impact on accreditation, the MSPE process, and student outcomes. POSITION DIMENSIONS AND IMPACT TO THE UNIVERSITY This position directly supports the University’s mission in education, research, and community service by ensuring accurate, timely, and accessible data for curriculum oversight, student assessment, and accreditation reporting. The Analyst’s work impacts approximately 600 medical students across the five‑state WWAMI region, more than 30 clerkship departments, and multiple academic and administrative units. Reporting systems and operational processes maintained by this position inform Clinical Competency Committees, the MSPE process, student progression decisions, program evaluation, LCME accreditation, and continuous quality improvement efforts. Although the position does not manage a budget, its analyses influence resource planning, faculty workload, and strategic decision‑making across the School of Medicine. This role is critical to the long‑term implementation and success of the School of Medicine’s CBME system and supports enterprise‑level educational transformation initiatives across the WWAMI region.
