About The Position

The Curriculum Developer position at Purdue University involves working under general supervision to assist faculty in designing software development projects, lab assignments, and assessment materials for Computer Science courses. The role requires researching current trends to inform curriculum goals and pedagogical methods, as well as assessing existing curricula and recommending changes. This position is available at two levels: Curriculum Developer Specialist (P2) and Senior Curriculum Developer (P3), depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, other computing discipline, or other technical or education major.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience for P2 position.
• Minimum of four years of relevant experience for P3 position.
• General knowledge of computer science curricula, especially programming projects at the undergraduate level.
• Understanding of the function of teaching assistants.
• Ability to effectively communicate with faculty and teaching assistants.
• Ability to work independently and with large groups.
• Ability to develop software.
• Understanding of the organization and operation of higher education courses.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of CS instructional laboratories and general knowledge of computer lab equipment.
• Ability to teach and monitor the progress of teaching assistants.
• Ability to maintain a course website.
• Knowledge of the operation of course learning management systems.
• Competence with at least one of Java, Python, or C programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty in the design of software development projects and lab assignments.
