About The Position

The Current Product Engineer II will be responsible for application of current products to specific customer needs and supporting Phase 4 (Launch) and Phase 5 (Sustain) efforts. They will support design and release of products needed to fulfill customer orders. They will lead resolution of production and supplier issues that have been identified and be a key link between Quality, Product Support, Manufacturing, and Product Engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Systems Engineering).
  • 3 – 5 years of years’ experience with Lithium battery systems
  • Root Cause Analysis Experience
  • Strong background working within cross-functional teams, interacting with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on complex configurations of products with a team.
  • The ability to work in a diverse, dynamic work environment with changing workloads and deadlines
  • Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
  • Data Analysis skills such as Excel Macro language, Python, MATLAB, SQL.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency, and professionalism, maintain cooperative working relationships with manager, co-workers, and customer.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills and practice in common methodologies such as 8D, 5 why, and solution verification strategies
  • Able to travel up to 10% of time if necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with design and release of lithium cells and packs.
  • Experience with government, aerospace, or defense programs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and release product configurations requested by internal and external customers.
  • Oversees and implements change management.
  • Investigates and implements new suppliers.
  • Create, support, and update DFMEAs and DVPRs as required.
  • Support production floor in cross functional teams with quality and manufacturing engineering.
  • Lead cost reduction efforts.
  • Work with Quality to identify, investigate and reduce warranty
  • Oversees and administers processing, verification, and prioritization of systematic field issues.
  • Guide and administer problem resolution and accompanying root cause analyses and findings with service engineers.
  • Work with current model engineering team to develop and validate corrective action through Develop and administer test plans, in the field and at Navitas to drive RCA.
  • Identify and clarify the cause of technical problems, determine the scope of repair and the development of a technically feasible and economical solution.
