About The Position

The Church History Museum is pleased to announce a paid 40 hour-per-week curatorial internship from April 2026 until August 2026. The Church History Museum provides engaging experiences for individuals to connect with the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the growing spiritual, artistic, and cultural legacies of its people. The curatorial intern supports this mission by working with the history curator and assistant curator to research, write, organize, and review historical content for museum projects. Throughout the internship, the intern will learn more about material culture, public history, writing for a general audience, and working for a museum.

Requirements

  • Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • A solid understanding of Latter-day Saint history from 1830 to the present
  • Strong storytelling skills and enthusiasm for public history.
  • The ability to work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively.
  • The ability to organize research effectively and communicate ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct historical research to support museum projects and messaging.
  • Contribute to and help maintain an exhibit object list in collaboration with curators and collections management team.
  • Produce written products for both internal and external audiences. This could include research reports, exhibition narrative text, etc.
  • Participate in project team meetings.
  • Perform other tasks according to project needs and individual capabilities and interests.
