The Opportunity We are looking for a detail-oriented Curative Specialist to join our team at our headquarters office in Morgantown, WV. In this role, you will be the bridge between initial land acquisition and the start of drilling operations. Your mission is to ensure our projects have clean titles. You will review land records, identify potential legal hurdles, and coordinate the documentation needed to resolve ownership issues. By streamlining the title clearance process, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our drilling schedule on track and compliant with all regulatory standards. Location: This role is a hybrid position based out of our office in Morgantown, WV and will be expected work onsite in the office three days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Land Management, Business, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in land, title, or field coordination. Specific experience in curative work within the Oil & Gas industry is a significant plus.
  • Strong grasp of land and title curative processes, including the ability to interpret legal descriptions, instruments, and contract terms.
  • Proven ability to analyze title opinions, lease records, and ownership documentation to identify and resolve defects.
  • Solid understanding of the regulatory requirements that impact land and drilling operations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams, external vendors, and legal partners.
  • High level of precision in documentation, reporting, and tracking curative items to ensure accuracy.
  • Comfortable using standard office software and internal land management documentation systems.
  • A flexible mindset with the ability to adjust to shifting project demands and timelines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze title issues and prepare Curative Status Reports (CSRs) to document required actions and resolution steps.
  • Create Clear to Drill (CTD) Memos and ensure all necessary internal Land team approvals are obtained.
  • Direct field agents and consultants on curative efforts, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to deadlines.
  • Monitor project timelines to ensure curative efforts stay ahead of scheduled spud dates and project milestones.
  • Coordinate with Land Acquisition and Title teams to verify progress on title orders and ensure workflow alignment.
  • Deliver routine project updates to the Land Acquisitions Manager, Title Manager, and Land Acquisition Coordinators.
  • Collaborate with Land Administration and Acquisitions teams to validate internal land data and support unitization efforts.
  • Predict curative workloads and field staffing requirements based on upcoming project volumes and activity.
  • Maintain strict adherence to regulatory standards, contractual requirements, and internal company protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and proactively identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance team efficiency.
  • Adapt to changing priorities with professionalism while fostering positive relationships and upholding the company’s ethical standards.
