About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as an Experienced Loss Prevention Security Door Guard. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the safety and security of our premises through your expertise in security protocols, access control, and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a security-related role, excellent observational skills, and the ability to manage challenging situations with confidence. This position is responsible for the security and prevention of theft at all entrances at designated stores; has responsibility for the execution and enforcement of all company policies at all CURACAO stores; uses various types of equipment and techniques: enforces, secures, helps customers or employees with basic store questions; physically stands at designated entrances to enforce company policies and to provide customer service if appropriate; report on suspicious activities internal or external to Loss Prevention Management. Make necessary stops as needed. This position reports directly to the Loss Prevention department.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of security experience.
• High School Diploma (or GED).
• Good judgment to react effectively in stressful situations.
• Great verbal and written communication skills.
• Good observation skills and alertness.
• Ability to act with integrity and professionalism.
• Knowledge of the Power of Arrest and detainment.
• Valid government issued ID for police reports.
• Basic computer skills.
• Math skills for basic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage access points to ensure only authorized personnel enter designated areas.
• Utilize surveillance systems to maintain awareness of activities within and around the premises.
• Actively deter theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities through a visible presence.
• Utilize appropriate tactics to apprehend and detain individuals suspected of theft.
• Provide customer service while enforcing security policies and procedures.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and collaborate with emergency services.
• Maintain accurate records of security-related incidents and prepare reports.
• Work collaboratively with other security personnel and law enforcement.
• Operate and maintain security equipment, including surveillance cameras.
• Assist store management during opening and closing procedures.
