The Cultural Resources Specialist will support the Air Force Sentinel Program to ensure regulatory compliance with existing laws, regulations, policies, and program requirements. Provide guidance, program evaluation, resource allocation, and other direct support for all cultural resources activities including identification, evaluation, treatment, and protection of National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) listed or eligible historic and prehistoric archaeological sites, Native American traditional sites and places, historic buildings and structures, and related records, documents, and data. These requirements will be completed in compliance with the program Programmatic Agreement (PA) and all applicable federal regulations and guidelines. This position is part of an interdisciplinary team of specialists and interface with Air Force Sentinel Program Office (SPO), Sentinel Cultural Resources Program Manager (SCRPM), Site Activation Task Force (SATAF) personnel, installation-level Environmental (CE) personnel, private contractor(s), and other program stakeholders. The role provides collaborative program and logistical oversight aligned with Sentinel program priorities and the program’s Programmatic Agreement (PA). Projects within the Sentinel program may involve complex cultural resources considerations and require problem-solving, coordination with stakeholders, and adaptation of standard cultural resources management approaches.
