In the role of Cultural Resource Specialist II, we'll count on you to: Perform complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard science techniques and procedures for archaeological and historic structure projects Make decisions on significant design and scientific procedures, taking responsibility for survey data compilation, assessment, analysis within historic contexts, historic context development, and report writing Function as Technical Specialist, Field Supervisor or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not sole focus of position Supervise a group of professionals and technicians as needed Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in cultural resource projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of and experience with project compliance-related activities including consultation, quality assurance and reviews
  • Willingness to work under varied weather conditions
  • Successful candidates must be familiar with field study design and documentation, regulatory framework for cultural resource management, and GIS utilities
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

  • BS in Engineering, Archaeology, History or related field
  • The ability to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions, such as rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures.
  • The ability to travel with overnight stays for extended periods out of town
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to draft sketch maps of sites and complete field forms accurately and concisely
  • The ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods daily
  • A commitment to data confidentiality agreements and professional ethics standards
  • A positive attitude with interest and willingness to learn and accept increasing responsibilities
