Cultural Resources Internship This is a full-time temporary position to provide support and assistance to the Cultural Resources team. The person in this position is expected to exercise a strong work ethic, a desire to learn new concepts, and have good organizational and communication skills. The position will consist of hands-on training in the field of Cultural Resources Management to support all of DOWL’s practice areas and across a broad spectrum of clients and market sectors. Experience gained will include office and field duties. Travel required.

Requirements

  • Two to three years of college-level course work in pursuit of a baccalaureate degree (B.A., B.S.) in anthropology or a related discipline is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from clients, co-workers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to clients, co-workers, and the public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Should be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project software.
  • Ability to prioritize special projects and daily workload to ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Introductory understanding of archaeological field work.
  • Driving is an essential job function or a valid driver’s license is required to support legitimate business purposes

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in cultural resources management is desirable but is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation of permit applications, reports, studies, and memos associated with cultural resources compliance.
  • Coordinate with project team members.
  • Support project management activities.
  • Conduct and document research efforts and findings
  • Perform assemblies and tabulations of resources
  • Prepare and route project related correspondence and record keeping.
  • Assist cultural resources field survey crews.
  • Other cultural resources management related duties as assigned.
