About The Position

As a Field Archaeologist Intern for Civil & Environmental Consultants, you’ll work on a variety of projects including deep testing, Phase II testing, Phase III mitigation, and Phase I surveys (pipeline, coal, road, renewable energy). You’ll have the opportunity to travel primarily in the Midwest with possibilities of covering the South and Southeast. The duration of the projects will vary from 1–7 days and potentially longer. If you enjoy the outdoors, have an inquisitive mind, and aren’t afraid to get dirty, then this is the opportunity for you. By the end of the internship, technicians can expect to have a functioning understanding of cultural resource management and the tasks involved. Applicants should expect to travel throughout the Midwest. Through the CEC Internship Program, you will: Acquire practical experience applying knowledge from college courses, learn from industry experts, and collaborate with teams across functional groups and locations; Develop a robust professional network through social events and interactive activities; Collaborate closely with a mentor in your discipline to tackle real-world challenges; and Participate in workshops to help foster interpersonal skills within the workplace and prepare students for success in their full-time careers.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in the U.S. without sponsorship
