Requirements

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalency.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Must have a current and valid class 'C' driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
  • Intermediate computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment; includes Excel, Word, Publisher, database management, and record keeping.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree.
  • One (1) year of library/cultural event planning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Providing high quality service in the Arts department.
  • Registering students and issuing materials.
  • Keeping records of new registrants.
  • Assisting with cultural arts services.
  • Organizing and providing assistance to the supervisor with the maintenance of cultural arts programs, events, and festivals.
  • Providing assistance to residents with event information, outreaches, event setups, and staffing of event stations including rental venues.
  • Assisting with organizing receptions for new artwork exhibits, book releases, and cultural arts receptions.
  • Assisting in the coordination of a wide variety of art-related programs.
  • Ensuring assistance in the design, planning, installation, and maintenance of art exhibitions.
  • Providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed.
