About The Position

The Cultivation Technician II at Glass Meadows is a mid-level position responsible for advanced cultivation tasks, including the oversight of environmental controls, plant and materials inventory, fertigation, and integrated pest management (IPM), in addition to all the tasks performed by a Cultivation Technician I. This role demands a higher level of technical skill and understanding of cannabis cultivation processes to ensure the optimization of the cultivation environment and the health of the plants.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in horticulture, agriculture, or related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years experience in a plant cultivation setting; cannabis cultivation experience highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of plant biology, nutrient requirements, and environmental controls.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cultivation systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and work in various environmental conditions including hot and cold temperatures, ensuring the ability to handle physical tasks in diverse climates
  • Compliance with legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Cannabis Handler’s Permit as required by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all plant care responsibilities as outlined for Cultivation Technician I.
  • Apply advanced cultivation techniques to improve plant health and productivity.
  • Monitor and adjust environmental systems including HVAC, CO2, lights, and humidity controls to maintain optimal growing conditions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to climate control systems.
  • Oversee the mixing and delivery of nutrient feed schedules.
  • Calibrate and maintain fertigation equipment, ensuring accurate nutrient application.
  • Monitor pH and EC in runoff, feeds, and while mixing nutrient salts in concentrate tanks.
  • Implement and monitor pest and disease management strategies to maintain plant health.
  • Record and analyze IPM data, adjust strategies as needed to effectively manage pest populations.
  • Conduct regular inventories of plants and cultivation materials.
  • Ensure all materials are stocked and available, coordinating with suppliers as needed.
  • Maintain tracking of all plant movements, green waste, and other regulated plant activities in the METRC state tracking software.
  • Maintain detailed records of environmental parameters, fertigation schedules, and pest management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with state cannabis tracking systems and internal SOPs.
