Job Summary The Irrigation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all irrigation and nutrient delivery systems within the cultivation facility. This role ensures optimal plant health, consistent nutrient formulation, accurate irrigation scheduling, and compliance with state regulations. The Fertigation Supervisor leads a team, maintains fertigation infrastructure, and collaborates closely with cultivation and IPM teams to drive yield, quality, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agencies :
  • 3+ years of commercial cultivation experience (cannabis preferred)
  • 2+ years of fertigation or irrigation management experience.
  • Experience with irrigation/climate control systems ( priva , trolmaster, Agrus , etc.)
  • Able to pass all background checks/fingerprinting as required by state cannabis agencies.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective time-management skills and ability to multitask.
  • Two-year degree in a horticultural or agricultural field or demonstrated experience in horticulture or agricultural production.
  • Familiarity with nutrient formulation software

  • Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to inspect/maintain plants.
  • Occasionally operates power hand tools and other cultivation machinery .
  • Must be able to inspect and detect quality deviations and defects.
  • Occasional lifting, positioning, or moving items up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years’ experience working in an agricultural/horticultural field preferred
  • Familiarity with nutrient formulation software

Responsibilities

  • Develop, mix, and manage nutrient formulations based on plant stage and cultivar requirements
  • Monitor and adjust EC, pH, and runoff metrics to maintain optimal plant health
  • Create and manage irrigation schedules (vegetative, flowering, and propagation stages)
  • Maintain accurate nutrient and irrigation logs
  • Oversee calibration and maintenance of fertigation systems, injectors, pumps, and sensors
  • Troubleshoot irrigation system issues (clogs, pressure inconsistencies, injector calibration)
  • Ensure proper operation of automated fertigation software and environmental integration systems
  • Manage water quality testing and implement corrective measures as needed
  • Maintain reservoirs, filtration systems, and storage tanks
  • Supervise and train fertigation technicians
  • Ensure SOP adherence for nutrient mixing and system sanitation
  • Promote safe chemical handling and proper PPE use
  • Coordinate daily tasks and prioritize workload based on cultivation needs
  • Maintain detailed compliance records in accordance with state cannabis regulations
  • Track nutrient usage, cost metrics, and inventory levels
  • Collaborate with cultivation leadership to analyze yield data and optimize feeding strategies
  • Assist with audits and regulatory inspections
  • Work closely with Cultivation Manager to adjust feeding programs based on plant response
  • Coordinate with IPM team to ensure compatibility of nutrient and pest management programs
  • Partner with Facilities team on water infrastructure and system improvements
