Potential full-time or part-time opportunities will be determined based on performance and skillset, and a job offer may or may not be extended at the end of the agreed-upon term. The evaluating Chef(s) will determine based on showcased skillset which position is the best fit for our organization, if any. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Culinary Trainee will assist the kitchen team in daily food preparation and cooking activities, working under the guidance of senior chefs to showcase their culinary skills and ensure high-quality food service. This temporary short-term position is designed to evaluate the candidate’s skillset and determine the best fit for our kitchen and culinary team needs. Upon favorable outcome, a job transfer for another position may or may not be extended at the end of the agreed-upon term.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of food and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Showcase culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items as directed by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Maintain high operational and personal hygiene standards in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Help coordinate food preparation, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Participate in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization, adopting a "clean as you go" approach.
  • Receive regular training to learn station responsibilities and kitchen operations.
  • Assist in monitoring food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure proper storage and disposal of food items as directed.
