About The Position

This Hybrid role pays $20-22 per hour DOE and will begin on June 15th, 2026, running until August 7th or 14th depending on candidate availability. We look forward to talking with you about this exciting opportunity! This role is open in Bellevue/Seattle Washington area or the San Francisco/San Rafael/Alameda area only. Qualified applicants will need to live within these areas and able to reliably transport themselves to various communities as needed. We are hiring a Culinary Summer Intern! This Intern will gain experience in building internal/external relationships with our communities, agency and partners. The intern will also gain experience culinary services for senior living organizations, including at the national, regional, affiliate, and community level, as well as explore the promotion of organizational programs and ongoing communications with team members, clients, residents and key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Pursuing undergraduate education in Culinary Services, Hospitality, Hotel/Restaurant Management.
  • Ability to transport to the designated office/community during days/shifts needed.
  • Organized, self-motivated, professional.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • Able to prioritize and balance concurrent/competing projects, tasks, or assignments.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision making
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Open to learning and receiving feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with VP of Culinary to develop content for websites, social media, newsletters, internal communications, and marketing materials.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing produce, measuring ingredients, and simple knife work under supervision.
  • Follow recipes and production sheets with guidance from culinary leadership.
  • Learn and practice proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
  • Support plating, garnishing, and assembling dishes during service times.
  • Help maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, stations, and equipment.
  • Assist with inventory counts, labeling, and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Set up and break down prep stations before and after meal periods.
  • Restock supplies such as utensils, spices, disposables, and prep ingredients.
  • Collaborate with cooks, dietary teams, and supervisors to complete daily tasks.
  • Participate in kitchen meetings, training sessions, and learning opportunities.
  • Shadow experienced culinary team members to develop foundational culinary skills.
  • Assist in preparing food or materials for demonstrations, marketing content, or community events.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
