About The Position

As a Culinary Receiver at Spectrum Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the culinary team's operations run smoothly by receiving, inspecting, and organizing all incoming food. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring food safety compliance, and collaborating closely with the culinary team to support efficient kitchen operations on both event and non-event days.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year of experience in culinary operations, warehouse receiving, or inventory management (hospitality or stadium/arena experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with HACCP guidelines and food safety handling procedures.
  • Ability to work in cold environments (coolers, freezers) for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for long periods.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive team attitude.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and event days.

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe Certification or equivalent (preferred but not required).
  • Experience using inventory management software or systems.

Responsibilities

  • Receive all food deliveries, dry goods, and perishable items in accordance with quality and safety standards.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery invoices to ensure accuracy and report discrepancies.
  • Conduct temperature checks and quality assessments of all perishable goods upon arrival.
  • Properly label, date, and rotate inventory (FIFO system) to maintain food safety and freshness.
  • Organize and stock all culinary storage areas, including walk-in coolers, freezers, and dry storage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of receiving and storage areas in compliance with local health department standards and internal protocols.
  • Assist with weekly and monthly inventory counts and reporting.
  • Communicate efficiently with chefs, sous chefs, and procurement staff regarding shortages, overages, or damaged items.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other equipment safely to transport inventory.
  • Support kitchen staff by transferring supplies and ingredients to appropriate prep stations as needed.
