About The Position

Join our team at the Omni Houston Hotel, a luxurious oasis located in the prestigious Uptown Post Oak/Galleria area of Houston. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and a dynamic work environment. As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will assist in the overall operation of the culinary team, ensuring a quality experience for our hotel guests. This role includes creating schedules, executing orders, and training kitchen staff. We are looking for friendly, motivated individuals with a passion for serving others. Enjoy a $300 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment!

Requirements

  • At least 5 years culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
  • Minimum one year kitchen supervisory experience.
  • Proven culinary skills with the ability to lead, develop, and motivate staff.
  • Familiarity with batch and quantity cooking in a high-volume restaurant.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and basic mathematical skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to write and perform daily prep list and par sheets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced high-pressure work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary degree and/or formal training preferred.
  • Food handlers certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily food preparation for assigned areas.
  • Utilize a hands-on approach to training and developing kitchen staff.
  • Instill safety and sanitation habits in all employees.
  • Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications.
  • Visually inspect, select, and use only food items of the highest standard.
  • Maintain cleanliness of refrigeration, equipment, and storage areas to comply with health regulations.
  • Teach associates the importance of consistency in preparation and presentation.
  • Prep, stock, and rotate line to ensure ample supply of products.
  • Fire all food for service and serve on line.
  • Maintain check cooking times and temperatures.
  • Follow all storage procedures for food handling.
  • Work closely with wait staff to exceed guest expectations.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.
