Kalamazoo Valley Community College is seeking passionate and motivated individuals to serve as Culinary Lab Assistants. These positions support culinary instructors, staff, and students with demonstrations and hands-on activities in the classrooms and kitchens.

  • Opening the kitchen prior to class.
  • Supporting the student-run cafe; including preparation of food and cashiering.
  • Assisting in the upkeep and sanitation practices of all areas of the Culinary and Allied Health building.
  • Assisting in receiving, storing, and the distribution of all food and supplies.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling practices is required.
  • Candidates must be motivated and reliable.
  • Previous coursework, or industry experience, in culinary arts is preferred.
  • Servsafe Manager certification is preferred.
