About The Position

Flik Hospitality Group is hiring immediately for a Culinary Intern position located at 750 East 9th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202. The schedule will be discussed further upon interview. This is a paid internship with a pay rate of $13.00 per hour. Free meals, uniforms, and laundering service are available at select locations. The FLIK Culinary Internship Program provides culinary students the opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen culture, closely working with culinary mentors and gaining insights into the food service and hospitality industry. Interns will prepare menu items across various kitchen stations, engage with guests, learn about wellness and sustainability initiatives, and adhere to customer service standards.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college or professional culinary program and/or have 1 year of industry experience.
• Meet university's GPA requirement for Internship.
• Successful completion of sanitation standards training.
• Successful completion of relevant knife skills and/or Intro to Culinary coursework.
• Must be available to work 20 - 40 hours a week based on business needs & internship requirements.

• College credit is not required, but documentation will be provided if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items across all kitchen stations.
• Rotate through various stations: pizza/pasta, deli, salad bar, grill, and international cuisine.
• Engage with guests and tailor plates to their dietary needs.
• Review culinary and front-of-house standards.
• Learn about wellness and sustainability initiatives.
• Adhere to 'platinum service' customer service standards.
• Consistently practice safety and sanitation protocols.
• Assist with catering events, including setup and execution.
• Develop professional relationships and enhance interpersonal skills.
