About The Position

The Culinary Director at Arrow Senior Living is responsible for overseeing the culinary department, ensuring exceptional service in both front and back of house. This role involves preparing food items to culinary standards, creating menus based on resident preferences, and maintaining portion control while minimizing waste. The position is full-time, located in Nixa, MO, with a shift schedule of Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, and a weekend rotation from 10 am to 2 pm.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in senior housing or related field (preferred, not required).
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills.
  • Completed formal culinary, food service, or restaurant training or equivalent supervisory experience.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel for document creation and modification.
  • Ability to send, receive, and forward emails.
  • Physically active, capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable with extreme temperatures in the kitchen.
  • Good health verified by a health screening.
  • Freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis verified within seven (7) days of employment.
  • Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the culinary department to provide consistent, exceptional five-star service.
  • Ensure food items are prepared to culinary standards for an exceptional dining experience.
  • Develop menus of seasonal and mainstay choices based on resident preferences.
  • Maintain portion control and minimize food waste.
