About The Position

Culinary Development Chef - Vineland, NJ Position Summary: The Culinary Development Chef role encompasses all the qualities of a Research Chef. The successful candidate will possess solid cooking skills with the ability to think innovatively and scientifically in applying the ADM product portfolio to support our customers and drive profitability for the business. We are looking for that unique individual that has presence, adds value and brings credibility to our organization every day. Chef will work directly with ADM sales, marketing, culinary and technical teams on projects and presentations supporting the growth of our business. Chef will also work independently on assigned projects under direction of culinary director. Act as central translation point between idea and execution.

Requirements

  • Culinology/Culinary school graduate with some restaurant experience is essential.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree with some corporate exposure and industry experience is ideal.
  • Food industry experience either in customer facing or development roles is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of food science principles such as thermal process methods is expected.
  • Possessing computer skills such as Power Point, Excel, Publisher is helpful.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations and other ADM innovation centers is required.
  • Excellent people skills, innovative thinking, and solid organizational skills are highly valued.
  • Working well in a fast paced, team environment is especially important.

Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for developing savory based applications using the ADM product portfolio leading directly to new business wins.
  • Leverage insights and trends to develop new product concepts and gold standard recipe creations.
  • Translating flavor and consumer trends into successful products formatted to customer manufacturing processes.
  • Enhancing customer engagement – building chef to chef relationships
  • Developing and participating in culinary food presentations at customer locations.
  • Comfortable using and working with project management systems.
  • Maintaining proper sanitation and safety guidelines within kitchen and work areas.
