About The Position

Do you love cooking and inspiring young minds? Join us this summer and turn your passion for food into an unforgettable experience for kids! At the Speer Branch YMCA, we're looking for a creative Culinary Camp Counselor to lead a 10-week hands-on cooking adventure for young campers. From baking sweet treats to teaching kitchen confidence and nutrition basics, you'll help campers discover the joy of cooking in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

Requirements

• Strong kitchen skills and a genuine passion for cooking
• Availability for the full 10-week Summer Camp
• Positive attitude, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with youth

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children (preferred)
• Culinary degree not required - talent and passion matter most

Responsibilities

• Lead exciting, interactive cooking camps throughout our 10-week Summer Camp
• Teach basic cooking and baking skills, kitchen safety, and nutrition fundamentals
• Promote proper food safety, sanitation, and safe kitchen practices
• Help plan engaging culinary activities and assist with purchasing supplies
• Create a welcoming, high-energy camp experience where every child feels included
