About The Position

The Food and Nutrition Dishwasher is responsible for assisting the team in upholding cleaning and sanitary standards in the Tabitha kitchens. Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language including instructions and labels.
  • Ability to recognize and interpret non-verbal cues.
  • Ability to respond calmly and clearly to emergencies, heavy workloads and changes in priorities.
  • Physical stamina with the ability to perform duties while moving about the work area for the entire shift with few opportunities to sit down.
  • Strength and stamina sufficient to frequently and continuously lift, push, pull, reach, squat, kneel, bend, carry, twist, pinch, grasp, climb stairs while carrying supplies.
  • Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability and pass a 32-pound physical exam demonstrating strength and agility prior to employment.
  • At least age 16.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Six months of experience in sanitation work in health care or food preparation facility preferred.
  • Prep/Cook Level Food Handler Permit required for Tabitha campuses in Lancaster County.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating dish machine to ensure dishes and silverware are cleaned and sanitized, dried and put away in a timely manner.
  • Clean and sanitize pots and pans according to standard practice.
  • Works with the team of servers and cooks to maintain a clean and orderly kitchen, storeroom, cold storage areas, hallways, and dock areas, completing cleaning checklists, as directed.
  • Handle trash and sweep and mop kitchen floor.
  • Performs work duties within the assigned work environment related to the position, as assigned by Tabitha, regardless of TEAMember preference.
  • Willingly takes on additional duties and/or assignments, assisting with projects and responding to requests as assigned or as necessary.
