The Salvation Army's Boston Kroc Center is seeking a Culinary Arts Program Training Facilitator to lead and manage the culinary training program. This position is pivotal in developing the curriculum for vocational job training, providing in-class instruction, and acting as the training chef for the kitchen training program. The facilitator will be responsible for creating and administering written and practical tests based on the curriculum, as well as devising a grading system for each module. Regular assessments of students' abilities to comprehend, perform, and retain practical techniques will be essential, with progress reports provided in meetings with the Kroc Center administration. In addition to curriculum development, the facilitator will supervise the Life Skills Coach and Culinary Assistant, ensuring effective performance management and training. The role also involves supporting the Food Service and Culinary Arts Training Program Manager and contributing to fundraising efforts for the program. The facilitator will teach the ServSafe curricula, maintain industry standards, and evaluate students' comprehension and performance throughout the 10-week program. Community engagement is a key aspect of this role, as the facilitator will reach out to local chefs and food service industries to involve them in the program and assist in job placements for graduates. Coordination of culinary field trips, recruitment of candidates for the program, and support for trainees in job placement and internship development are also critical responsibilities. The facilitator will mentor trainees and participate in ongoing team meetings to discuss their progress, ensuring a supportive and encouraging training environment.
