About The Position

We are seeking a dependable Culinary Aide to join our overnight kitchen team. This role is crucial in ensuring residents, employees, and special events are served safe, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared meals. The culinary team supports the dignity, health, and quality of life of residents, and the care taken in food preparation directly impacts their well-being.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling practices
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow schedules
  • A patient, polite, and service-oriented attitude
  • Dependability, punctuality, and consistency in attendance
  • Ability to work independently during overnight hours
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food Handlers Permit, if required per state regulations
  • Individuals must be at least 18 years of age to be employed in this position

Nice To Haves

  • Six months experience in a long-term care environment
  • Experience in food service

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and portioning foods such as beverages, salads, desserts, and snacks according to menus and dietary needs
  • Following food safety and proper handling standards to ensure meals are safe, fresh, and appealing
  • Serving meals at the correct temperature, on schedule, and with care
  • Using standardized recipes and portion control tools for consistency and quality
  • Accurately serving residents according to diet orders and preferences
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen and serving areas
  • Washing dishes and maintaining sanitation logs for temperatures and sanitizer use
  • Labeling, dating, storing, and rotating food properly
  • Monitoring refrigerator and freezer temperatures and reporting concerns promptly
  • Assisting with receiving and storing food and supplies
  • Supporting inventory awareness and minimizing waste
  • Operating kitchen equipment safely and reporting maintenance issues
  • Working collaboratively with teammates across departments
  • Creating a welcoming, respectful environment for residents, families, and visitors
