About The Position
The CTO Commissioning Specialist at Konecranes is a vital role that focuses on providing technical and on-site support for the start-up and commissioning activities of Configure to Order (CTO) cranes across North America. This position requires a high school diploma and a certified electrician with relevant industrial experience. While a diploma or degree in an electrical-related field is beneficial, it is not mandatory. The specialist must possess prior experience with industrial electrical equipment and demonstrate excellent technical and troubleshooting skills. The ability to read electrical drawings, maintain organization, and manage a busy workload with multiple tasks is essential. Interpersonal skills are also crucial, as the role involves collaboration with various teams and stakeholders. The CTO Commissioning Specialist will be responsible for assisting and performing start-up and commissioning activities, which include field wiring and the proper setup of all required devices on Overhead Travelling Cranes. This role also involves providing phone support to service and subcontractor resources during installation, startup, commissioning, and warranty activities as needed. In more complex situations, the specialist will provide onsite startup, commissioning, and warranty support, which may include overseeing other resources and completing hands-on work. Training installation subcontractors and service branches is another key responsibility, along with troubleshooting various electrical and mechanical topics. Additionally, the specialist will support the warranty group in troubleshooting, determining root causes, and finding resolutions to technical warranty events. The role requires extensive domestic travel, up to 80% of the time, with the possibility of some international travel. The CTO Technical Support position reports to the regional CTO Technical Support team, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the role within the organization.
