CTO - AI Prompt Library & Community (Prom.dev)
About The Position
Prom is where the next generation of AI builders create, share, remix, and discover prompts. We're building the home for people to learn in public, collaborate deeply, and ship fast with LLMs. We're backed by Pioneer Square Labs (PSL). PSL is a premier startup studio that has launched 35+ venture-backed companies, and you'll work directly with PSL's world-class engineering team during onboarding while taking technical ownership from day one. The role is for a founding technologist who wants real ownership, real impact, and a real shot at building something the AI world talks about.
Requirements
- You're excited about AI, LLM prompting, and early-stage product creation
- You have 3+ years of software engineering experience
- You love to build in the open. Open-source or community-led project experience is a major plus.
- You are a problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity and early-stage environments where nothing is “someone else's job.”
- You're hungry. You want responsibility, ownership, and the change to build a category-defining company people talk about.
Responsibilities
- Be the CEO's thought partner on product direction, technical vision, and long-term strategy. You'll shape the company as much as the codebase.
- Translate our product vision into a roadmap you actually believe in and can deliver on.
- Build the core of Prom.dev: architect systems, ship features, write production-quality code regularly.
- Engage deeply with our community of builders and prompt designers; what they care about should shape what we build.
- Recruit, hire, and lead our engineering team as we scale (you'll help set the culture and the bar).
