About The Position

Columbia Threadneedle Investments, the global asset management subsidiary of Ameriprise Financial, is seeking a Fixed Income Research Analyst for our US Bank Loans team. This El Segundo, CA-based role offers the opportunity to work in one of the world's largest leveraged finance asset classes. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and data expertise to inform critical investment decisions for the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in leveraged finance research or credit analysis
• Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into portfolio recommendations
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for effective collaboration and idea sharing
• Demonstrated work ethic and commitment to team success in investment management
• Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years of relevant leveraged finance or credit research experience
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation completed or in progress
• Proficiency with Bloomberg terminal and AI tools
• Experience with loan documentation and covenant analysis

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth sector and security analysis to support investment decisions
• Analyze industry trends and integrate findings into actionable investment recommendations
• Perform financial modeling of securities and companies within the leveraged finance space
• Execute relative value analysis across various security types
• Identify and develop data management tools to enhance investment process efficiency
• Contribute to team discussions on investment performance and process improvement
• Collaborate with other fixed income and asset class teams on firm-wide investment initiatives
• Interact with issuers and dealers through meetings and industry conferences
• Monitor existing portfolio holdings and evaluate performance against original investment thesis
• Manage independent research projects and contribute to group research initiatives
