About The Position

The Lockhart Independent School District is dedicated to cultivating innovative learners and empowering bold leaders. The primary purpose of this position is to implement and assist the CTE: Science program at the assigned campus. The role involves providing students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The educator will enable students to develop competencies and skills necessary to function successfully in society.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate.
• Knowledge of Science and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Science or EMT background preferred.
• Health Science background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and assist the CTE: Science program for assigned campus.
• Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to IEP guidelines.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
• Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
