About The Position

The position involves teaching and supervising assigned students with appropriate learning experiences in a credential authorized area. The teacher is responsible for planning and providing suitable learning experiences, supervising students in various school-related settings, and assessing student outcomes. The role requires effective communication with students, parents, staff, and the community, as well as the development and modification of instructional plans to meet diverse student needs. The teacher must create a conducive environment for the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students while maintaining professional competence and appropriate records.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction; instructional materials and methods; evaluation and assessment techniques and procedures; child development; the core curriculum.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of organizations and with people of all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to understand, implement, and give complex oral and written directions in English.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to compose clear, complete and concise correspondence and reports independently using correct grammar, syntax, punctuation and spelling.
  • Ability to manage a positive, educational classroom environment.
  • Experience in student teaching and other experience working with school-age children.
  • Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited college or university.
  • CBEST, valid California Teaching Credential for assignment.

  • Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices.
  • Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Supports the goals of the district by serving on special committees and other groups.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
