About The Position

The High School Teaching/Career & Technical Education Teacher position at Dr. Abraham P. Cano Freshman Academy is designed to provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the assigned academic subject area. The goal is to help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth, enabling them to develop competencies and skills necessary to function successfully in society.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 2 years of creditable working experience in the assigned area or a valid Texas Health Science teaching certificate.
• Demonstrated competency in the career and technology education subject area assigned.
• Two or more years of wage-earning experience in the area of licensure/certification.

Nice To Haves

• LVN or RN certification.
• Comprehensive understanding of clinical and administrative duties and patient care.
• Experience in phlebotomy, injections, wound care, taking vital signs, and calculating dosages.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate learning activities and experiences in the assigned academic subject area.
• Help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
• Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
• Instruct students and manage their behavior.
