About The Position
CTE Drafting, Engineering, and Drones Teacher 11 month position (220 days) SY 2026-2027 Blacksburg High School Are you passionate about teaching in Career and Technical Education? Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Drafting, Engineering, and Drones teacher position that is available at Blacksburg High School for SY 2026-2027. This position requires the teaching of dual enrollment coursework. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: To develop and implement an instructional technology education program based on current industry standards and state curriculum that will prepare students for employment or further education.
Requirements
- Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with the appropriate endorsement to teach dual enrollment courses in the appropriate subject areas
- Possess a Master’s or higher level degree with relevant field coursework
- Possess Project Lead the Way certification or willingness to complete coursework to obtain the certification
- Hold a remote Pilot License or willingness to obtain the license
- Have experience or training in areas related to CTE
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials
- Possess the ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
- Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
- Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework
- Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
- Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Engage and collaborate effectively with students, parents, and families
- Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
- Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities
Nice To Haves
- Have a Master's degree or higher degree in Engineering
- Experience working with any CADD program
- Previous public school secondary education teaching experience
