The Software Technical Steward at Trimble is a pivotal role that provides direction and engineering support for the design and development of complex technologies, components, systems, products, or services. This position is integral to the Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) department, which focuses on delivering innovative software solutions. The steward will lead the technical strategy and direction for CTCT Application and Platform Software, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and technical excellence. In this role, the steward will engage in two-way communication with leaders in CTCT to establish and maintain a shared understanding of the direction and goals necessary for successful project delivery. Active participation in finding technical solutions that meet both Caterpillar and Trimble expectations is essential. The steward will collaborate with other CTCT Software leaders on decisions that impact multiple product teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to established standards and best practices. The position requires a deep understanding of technology trends and approaches from adjacent industries to identify opportunities and influence outcomes for CTCT Software. The steward will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching others, enhancing their technical competence, and ensuring effective communication across various levels of the organization. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, effective communication skills, and the ability to influence and advise on technology-related matters.
